Chinese Pomfret, locally known as Gabbar Paphlet, is a larger variety of pomfret with firmer flesh and a more pronounced flavour compared to White Pomfret. The thicker body yields more meat per fish, making it a better value for families. Excellent for tawa fry, grilled whole, steamed Chinese-style, and fish curry.
